The KTB for U-990's 4th war patrol has been added to the KTB section.  This was a short but eventful patrol during which U-990 rescued survivors of U-476 and then was sunk after an attack by a British Liberator.

The KTB for U-552's 9th war patrol has been added to the KTB section.

Added a page of photos from MMC Celestine M. Urbaniak, USN, a member of the US Navy crew of U-977

The KTB for U-109's 4th war patrol has been added to the KTB section.

The KTB for U-172's 5th war patrol has been added to the KTB section.

20 September 2009

A new feature has been added to the KTB section which enables the reader to view the original German text for each page of a KTB.  This was done to encourage discussion and feedback about the translations.  Click the German flag at the bottom of each KTB page to vew the German text.  

7 October 2009

A new section presenting US Navy Design Studies of surrendered German submarines has been added.

I use the this photograph of U-185 under attack as my computer desktop and folks have asked for the image so - click the icon to proceed to the desktop image download page
