The First Air Support Command is assigned about 250 small airplanes of which 95 single engined observation type aircraft are used for patrol missions. 26 of these planes carry 100-lb. bombs (fused contact) but the remainder have no effective armament. The ballance of these planes are used for ground liaison and utility.
