  From B.d.U.:  
  Deecke reports 21.00 hours convoy 11 to 15 steamers in naval square Anton Lucie 7463.  
     
  From B.d.U.:  
  Group "Vorwärts" Go now only course presumably southwest, Deecke report course immediately.  
     
  From B.d.U.:  
  Group "Vorwärts" despite bad weather and lost contact again operate on Deecke convoy.  Stay tough.  
  Breihaup and Kopke join Group "Vorwärts".  
     
  From Mumm:  
  Convoy naval square AK 9699, course 290°.  
     
  From Mumm:  
  Convoy AK 9951, large zigzags.  
     
  From Mumm:  
  Last position of the convoy 9892.  Forced off by corvette.  
     
  From Mumm:  
  1.)  During day attack depth charged by corvette.  Damage repaired.  With night attack 4-fan miss on large tanker, unexplained, forced to submerge by destroyer.  
  2.)  BD 2357, 8 Etos, canisters dented, 25 cbm.  Question supply.  
     
  From B.d.U.:  
  Group "Vorwärts".  
  1.)  Break off at 15 cbm.  Tanker is on outbound transit to naval square BC.  
  2.)  Occasionally, if not already done, add fuel and torpedo inventory to contact keeper reports.  
     
  To Group "Vorwärts":  
  Good. Keep it up. Tear the convoy apart.  
     
  To Mumm:  
  Question American Captain about the name of the sunken ships and report.  
     
  From B.d.U. Group Vorwärts immediately break off operation due to fog.  Give reports.  
     
  From B.d.U.:  
  1.)  On return transit:  Litterscheid, Ölrich, Mumm, fuel supply from Stiebler up to 32 cbm.  
  2.)  Struckmeier return transit without supply.  
  3.)  Fill up to 90 cbm:  Walkerling, Deecke, Hause, Röther, Brüller, Hellriegel, at the same time Bülow, if spare diesel head is taken over from other boats.  
  4.)  Brüller take over spare parts for Junkers compressor from Stiebler.  
  5.) Free to take over torpedoes if possible.  
  6.  After supply boats head for square Viktor Ida 51.  Steibler transit to the south.

  2.)  Ob. Stiebler sighted,  
  3.)  Which boats are there.  Mumm report immediately, if supplied from Stiebler, if arrival of other boats at Stiebler was observed.  
     
  From Mumm:  
  1.)  16 September 22.00 hours all boats except Deecke at location.  Own supply completed up to 19 September 02.00 hours.  07.00 hours at departure after task cylinder head to Bülow still all gathered except Ölrich and Deecke.  
  2.)  Naval square BD 5986, SE 2, Sea 1, 1019 mb, steady, Vis. good.  
     
  From Mumm:  
  Naval square BE 7642 armed freighter, suspiciously changing course, possible trap.  WNW 5, Sea 4, 1028 mb, Vis. 12 nm.  
     
  To Mumm:  
  Attack free on reported ship.  
     
  From Mumm:  
  Convoy 2564.  During night attack artillery fire and depth charge pursuit.  Serious failures corrected except for air search periscope and Junkers compressor.  
     
  From Mumm:  
  Smoke clouds 2648.  
     
  From Mumm:  
  2642  1 destroyer and several steamers, course 40°.  
     
  From Mumm:  
  Naval square Cäsar Fritz 2624, approximate course 30°.  Changing visibility, rain showers, both compressors out of service, so far not fixable.  
     
  From Mumm:  
  Naval square Cäsar Fritz 2158 several smoke clouds in sight.  
     
  To Mumm:  
  Check position, suspect CF 31.  
     
  From Mumm:  
  New convoy naval square CF 2244 out of sight.  Course E.  Was stubbornly forced off again.  Limitedly clear to dive, because only 100 Kilos air.  E-compressor also out of service.  
     
  From Mumm:  
  1.)  Naval square CF 1839, 73 cbm, 12 + 2 torpedoes.  
  2.)  Failures:  air search periscope, listening gear limitedly operable, E-compressor cannot be repaired with on board means.  Necessary spare parts:  cylinder for stage 3, bushing for 1, working piston for 1 and 3.  Repairs to Junkers compressor still not completed after installation of spare valve.  Report follows.
