    5.U-Flottilla:  Escort caught up at Point Rot 21.  Has taken us in convoy.  If no other orders will carry out frequency change at 15.00 hours.

1453/22/90 Coastal To Cordes:  1.)  Own air sighted a convoy of 40 troop transports with escort and probably an aircraft carrier at 10.45 hours in naval square AE 9330
  2.)  At 23 December at 08.00 hours switch to "Ireland" Circuit.
   
1925/22/94 Coastal To Cordes:  If position favorable, operate on reported convoy and report position.
   
1552/24/198 Ireland Cordes give passing report on entering square Green NV.
   
2235/25/121   To Cordes:  New objective is square Green EW 61.
   
1903/28/175   1.)  Cordes, Purkhold, Mahrholz, Keiler join Group Rügen.
1911/28/176   2.)  Group Rügen after surfacing occupy the following patrol lines at economical speed:
  Group I . . . . ,  Group II  . . . . , Group III with Cordes, Heinrich, Geissler from square 3531 to 3594.
  Group IV to VII  . . . . , All square Green IV.
  3.  By day remain submerged, as often as possible go to periscope depth, on enemy sighting even by day operate energetically.  Only dive due to air danger.
   
1934/31/134   1.  Cordes, Heinrich and Mattke leave Group Rügen.
  2.  Named boats occupy the following areas and report there from daily normal Short Signal weather reports between 00.00 to 12.00 hours.  Cordes upper half of square Green MN 36.  Heinrich the area the points square Green MB 7141, 7263, 0177, 0299.  Mattke middle and right third of square Green RO 66.
  3.  First report on 1 January midday from the reached position
  4.  Purkhold occupy position from Mattke in Group "Rügen VI".  Geissler remain in position.

1730/3/171   Cordes, Heinrich, Mattke.  Report 3 days before beginning return transit.
     
1533/7/133   To Cordes:  The aircraft repelled by belonged to a convoy or warship formation according to B-Dienst reports.  Therefore suspect the sounds heard were from escort vessels and not from sound buoys.

1348/5/97 Coastal U-763 escort positioned on 7 February at 08.00 hours Point "Pumpe".  Radio Beacon Group 3 runs on 5 February from 20.00 hours to 6 February at 09.00 hours and from 20.00 hours to 7 February at 09.00 hours.

0040/7/458/132 Radio Msg. Naxos detection, repelled approaching "Lerwick" with brilliant searchlight naval square AK 2113.  After diving in GHG strong, varying propeller sounds.  Suspect noise buoy.  75 cbm.  All torpedoes.  No very low frequency reception submerged.  No steamer traffic.

2318/7/141 Radio Msg. Assumption by Leadership unlikely.  Light marker thrown.  Moved off, dove.  Heard sound band over entire scale at loud volume, the same on 3 January two-hour sound pursuit on the surface by day on sounds perfectly distinguished as propellers.  Despite very good visibility no enemy sighting, however unexplained volume increase over entire scale and same rhythm perceived in the entire boat.
